Best Restaurant in Wichita!. This place is Great. It's my favorite Restaurant in Wichita, KS. I'm not picky at all about foods. The food and service is a head above everybody elses. I highly recommend Sal's Japanese Steakhouse to all!

Very Bad Experience. Called and made a reservation for 8:30 pm, last night (2/22/09). Arrived at 8:30pm, stood at unattended hostess station for 10 mins and surveyed many other parties waiting in the lounge area. A group of 6 got up and mentioned that they were told it would be a 5 minute wait... 30 minutes ago. Eventually asked one of the wait staff to please get the hostess to the stand as there were others reservations arriving and we were all still standing at the door waiting for a hostess. Finally gave up and left after standing there for 15 mins with not a hint of a hostess to check us in. Left restaurant and went elsewhere. Bad impression, bad customer service.

No they don't cater to teens, that's what makes them great.. Their service is admittedly not the most phenominal, however if you are looking for great drink, entertainment, sushi, habatchi and prices, there in nothing better to be found anywhere. If you like to drink, chow and have a great time, this is the place for you, and no you will not wait behind a bunch of teenagers.

Thanks for the memories!. . On April 30th, my daughter, who made reservations in December for prom arrived 10 minutes early for her 7pm reservation. She was finally seated at 8:20, with her prom starting at 9pm . After sitting for another 15 min, she approached the manager to say that they had not been waited on , and was told to sit down or leave if she didnt like it. That comment i overheard as i was on her cell phone at the time. The party of 10, left and ate their prom dinner at taco bell in 300.00 dresses. I have placed several calls to Sal's, asking to speak with him , leaving my number, only to be told he isnt in, and then to have the same manager who hung up on me , call me back herself. I will never eat at this establishment again! Thanks Sal, for the memories!

Best Party Room. In the back of this establishment is a party room for 10-12 (if you want cozy). We waited for this table and it was well worth the wait. The food was nothing extraordinary (we prompted the chef what to add and he obliged).

Best performance by a chef as well. Very good party atmosphere for a group! We left 45 minutes after closing!
