Wichita >Reni's Bridal Boutique
Awful service.... First, they have a security door...umm, a lil' scary. Second, I walked in and immediately they said "we are appointment only." News to me...how about you get a website with information!!! Third, they immediately wanted to 1) look at my engagement ring as if to judge my purchase by the size of my diamond and 2) ask me when my date was as if to say "you have plenty of time and are not as important to us today." Fourth, the ladies tried to convince me that the dress I was in search of did not exist b/c it was not listed in the 1988 Maggie Soterro catalog. I proceeded to tell them that it was on the designer website page 40. Unfortunately, they don't have the internet so they were unable to look it up. Hello....2008!
Best bridal shop in Wichta. Ok....ladies you are missing out if you don't shop at Reni's for your dress. Her staff is very helpful and they will bend over backwards to help you find the perfect dress. I went to several bridal shops including ones in Kansas city, and Reni's was the best by far! They will tell you what looks good on you...they are very honest. Thery are not rude just professional and like I said honest.I went to another shop (big name) and they just wanted to sell me anything. I went in on a Saturday, and even though they were very busy they still took lots of time with me and helped me find the perfect dress. I am small and petite and Reni ordered my dress and it came in the perfect length. I didn't need a hem or anything. I had heard stories about girls spending $300 to have their dress altered so I was worried about that. Reni's staff always made me feel comfortable and like they really cared about making my day special.
Giving you a hug on your way out the door is not going to get you to come back if you did not like the service.
Maybe a hug on the way out is their way of apologizing for rude, pushy people. We did not know that you need an appointment. An appointment just to look at dresses...that just seems silly. How do you stay in business when you don't listen to the brides wishes, rude to the mother and then when you are suppose to be helping person x you just can't help butting in to person y's conversation. Being German does not give you license to be rude.
This store ROCKS!. I'm from out of town, and heard about Reni's. I wasn't sure what to expect. I'm on a tight budget and needed to find a dress for under $800. I told Reni that and showed her what I liked. She brought out many dresses and told me to just give them a try. I found the PERFECT Maggie Dress for just a little over 600! Reni knows these dresses like the back of her hands! She may be blunt, but that's what I wanted when purchasing such an expensive dress! Her staff was GREAT! She was GREAT! She even gave us her home phone number if we had any problems! By far, the best shop in Wichita!

Best Shop in Wichita. I had looked at 3 other shops in Wichita to look for my perfect dress and was feeling a bit discouraged with the service I was receiving. I thought I had found my dress at a different shop, but something told me that I should not order through them, because they weren't helpful and their sales people took the majority of the time talking about themselves. I just didn't trust them. So I made an appointment with Reni. When I walked in they had me look at books so she could see what I liked. She then told me she had a dress she wanted me to try on. I wasn't too excited with it when I saw it on the hanger, but I tried to keep an open mind. When I put it on, I fell in love! Reni knew that dress was right for me! She did allow me to try on dresses that I thought were the style I wanted, which were beautiful, but I kept going back to the one she picked. She and her staff have been very helpful and nice, and they had a huge selection. I'm so excited that I found her. I really wasn't wanting to give my money to a shop that didn't want to help. Reni is extremely helpful and an expert if you ask me!
Best bridal shop in wichita....small but hey bigger isnt better when it comes to bridal gowns!. This is the best bridal shop around! I live out of state now (CO) and went all over the Denver area shopping. Let me tell you...the ladies at Reni's were so helpful and had a very nice selection of dresses. They showed me exactly what I was looking for and they were helpful not pushy at all! I am so glad that I came into Reni's to buy my gown. Forget the big name stores....they have a million of the same dress and they will fight over who has to help you! (that really happened to me) You will be love this store! It is small but they have all the latest styles and are are very very nice and helpful!! Do your self a favor and check it out if you are looking for a bridal gown. Best shop in wichita for sure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Stay away from Evil Reni!!.
My sister was shopping for a wedding gown. She took me with her so I could give input on the dresses she tried. The greeting (if you call it that) at the door should have told us to turn around and walk away. After explaining to my sister that they had many dresses in her selected style, the salesperson only brought 3 dresses that fit my sisters style wish (Mermaid cut). They disregarded my sisters comments, told me that my opinion didn't matter since my sister was the one wearing the dress, and actually said rude things about the style of dress which my sister had picked out (which, by the way looks GREAT on her). I can't believe this woman is still in business. She and her sales people are pushy and rude, and don't care about what the bride wants at all.
Even worse, while we were there, another girl was there trying on gowns. She got a gown on, and it looked like it was about two sizes too small. They actually suggested that she could order another gown, or buy the one she had on!! It was TWO SIZES TOO SMALL!! The girl had ample time to order another gown (more than 6 months). They must have just wanted to get that one off their racks. It was sad for me to see.
Reni thinks the women of Wichita need her. The fact is, she needs the women of Wichita. Anything, literally ANYTHING Reni has, you can get somewhere else. Her shop is cramped, only has one set of mirrors, despite the fact that they could have many customers at once. They have a horrible selection of gowns, their salespeople are old, rude, and out of touch with modern trends, and they do nothing to make brides feel comfortable.
The best part was, that the sales person actually HUGGED my sister when we were on our way out the door, as if that would make up for the most horrible shopping experience ever!
The only good thing that happened out of the trip, were the laughs we had (at Reni's expense) on the way to the next shop.
Let's put this woman out of business!!
Small boutique, great selection, great customer service. This store is small and has been there for 25 years. I can see why now that I have been there. They had more dresses than any store I had been to. Fabulous selection of just about anything you could want. Every dress looked brand new even though I am sure some of them had been tried on, just like I was doing, but the owner was very particular that every gown be taken care of. She said each and every one of them would one day belong to someone and they had to be perfect. They were busy and she told us that this was actually a slower time of year for bridal sales. An appointment is needed on some of their busier days. I was so impressed with the quality, the prices, the bridal consultants, etc. My consultant, the owner's daughter I later found out, was very knowledgeable, polite and concerned about me having exactly what I wanted. At other stores, I felt like they wanted me to have what they wanted. I did not feel this way at Reni's. Go there, you will probably be very pleased. I have shopped around and their prices are very fair and better than most. They will price match any confirmed price on a gown at any other store, however, their prices were already better than anyplace else I had been so this probably doesn't come up much. I saw one dress in KC and they were $220 less for the exact same dress, same designer. Worth the trip in my opinion. They are always busy and now I know why!
Cramped and Pricey.
I made an appointment to visit this store on a Saturday at 11am. I had talked to Reni before at a bridal show and she was very personable and friendly and told us much about her life in Germany, where she is from, and her family. So I was very optimistic going to the store.
When I arrived I soon realized that the store is WAY too small for her inventory. They boast that they have over 950 dresses, and it's quite apparent that they have that and more. The shop is very small, which isn't a bad thing, but there's only three dressing rooms and ONE mirror/stage. So when I got there, there was one other appointment already there with two people watching her try on dresses. Then I took the second dressing room and had my mother in law (to be) with me. Then shortly after I arrived a third girl showed up, who was from Dallas and having her wedding in Wichita, but did not have an appointment. They decided to be nice and let her stay.
Then after I had been there about 30-45 minutes their next appointment (for the third room) showed up. So now, there were not only us three in the rooms and then 5 people watching, but a fourth girl and her mom waiting. I only tried on 5-7 dresses (which I know sounds like a lot) but I didn't really get to try on much and look around at all. I felt rushed and that I needed to get out of there. I couldn't even really look at myself in the mirror anyway.
Also, when I first showed Reni the photos of what I had been looking at, I told her where I had tried it on at and the price and she was ragging on that dealer and that their prices weren't that "designers" prices. SO, evidently designer prices are $200-300 more than other vendors. Also, I knew I couldn't take photos, but they wouldn't even tell me what I had tried on. I understand business, but that's ridiculous. So....I won't be buying from Reni's. Try her out and decide, but my experience wasn't great.
