I had rather hoped to write Dr.Dold an email, but they have no website and the front office was less than helpful in obtaining that info. My initial visit was the most hope inspiring thing I've ever encountered with a dentist. I have to admit I am rather (extremely) scared of the dentist, my teeth are like chalk and I've had such a hard time finding someone I trusted. At my first appt I met with the dental hygienist. She was more thorough than anyone else I've ever been to, and VERY nice. I ended up needing two root canals and a root scaling and planing. YIKES! She and Dr.Dold was very reassuring though and I was very comfortable with him. He assured me he could do the first root canal and crown at the same time (I'm one of those, if we have to do it lets just get it done kind of people) and it was my understanding the hygienist would do the scaling right after. We got it all scheduled and I went over everything with the benefit coordinator and the scheduler . I was going to take up a 4 1/2 hour block! The night before my appt my tooth hurt very very badly and I was pretty nervous. I didn't sleep until 4am. I also woke up about 5 minutes already into my 10 am appointment. I called them right away to apologize and see if they would still take me. The receptionist told me that there was no way because I was already late for my 9:30 (the appt was at 10..) and that she'd have to see if the Dr. would even still take me since I had missed my first big appointment. This was all done in a tone in which I would not in any matter tolerate usually, but I did because I messed it up. They called later that week to tell me I could reschedule and I did the happy dance ALL OVER the house. Today was my second appointment. I was there on time and got into the back room, there was obviously some confusion. As we continue talking the confusion increases and she ends up asking me what I'm there for and has to leave the room because apparently the chart was wrong. (At this point I'm very uncomfortable and starting to shake a bit) When she came back I was only more confused so she called in the insurance guru. After talking to her and the insurance liason for a while I come to understand that my prior understanding of how the process would go is not how it will now and that this block they rescheduled me for is less than half of what they had before. That my yearly benefit will be fine spread out so lets do this all in separate appointments. I explain to her that I'm fairly adamant about the root canal and crown being done the same day and that the Dr. had been fine with it. Thank goodness for the snarky remark I got for that comment. I mean, I was already visibly shaking and freaked out, what would be the point in being nice to a patient like that right? I ended up asking for a minute to pull myself together a bit so the nurse and liason left. By this point I needed a tissue and a glass of water, luckily there was both of those things in the room I was in. Unluckily for me there were several nurses that came in that just happened to need it more despite the room next door that was empty and exactly the same. I ended up leaving; frustrated, defeated and just extremely disappointed.
The best dentist and dental staff in Wichita. We have been with Dr Dold and his staff for years and have always received excellent care. The dental hygienist is very caring, thorough and a genuinely nice person. Always a positive experience..!
The Best Dentist around!. If I had gone to Dr Dold first, I wouldn't have spent years fearing and avoiding the dentist! He's the best dentist I've ever had.
Worst Experience ever!!!!. This is by far the worst dental office that I have ever been to as far as their customer service goes. I took my six year old to the office for a routine preventative care visit when the office took extra x-ray's on her without even consulting with me first and exposed her to unnecessary radiation as well. After speaking with the office manager about my concerns the office sent me a dismissal letter which is just fine with me because an office that treats their patients like this I also do not wish to be a part of! If I could give them a zero I would.
The best Dentist in Kansas. Dr Dold is worth driving 180 miles for. I moved from Wichita 4 years ago to Kansas City. I had no idea how difficult it would be to find a new dentist. I was seing my 3rd dentist and found out I needed a root canal. He said he didn't do root canals so I'd have to go to an endodontist. I made a quick call to Dr. Dold's office and overnighted the xray. They said he could do it. It was well worth the drive. I felt relaxed knowing I was in good hands. Dr. Dold really listens to you when you have a concern. The staff is great and many of them even remembered me! Dr. Dold does painless shots as well as painless root canals! You will never find a friendlier staff anywhere. I will keep driving back to Wichita now for all my dental needs.
