Tips for Eddy's Toyota

March 12, 2013

Landon seemed very knowledgeable about the vehicles in which we had an interest. We appreciated that he was not at all pushy. He was helpful even after the sale. His explanation of the somewhat complex electronic systems made the transition to our new vehicle pleasant.

I purchased a new car from Eddy’s Toyota in August of 2011 without incident. I felt that I was treated fairly and didn’t have any immediate problems. With the purchase of my new car, I got two years of free car washes at Eddy’s. This involved me pulling into the service entrance and letting their employees drive my car to a carwash that was out of my sight. Typically it was washed, vacuumed, and returned in 20 minutes or less.

A couple of months ago, I removed my wedding ring when I went into the gym and put it in my console. I forgot to put it back on when I returned to my car, and proceeded to Eddy’s for a car wash. When I got home, I realized I didn’t have my ring on and I went out to get it, only to find it missing. I turned my car inside out looking for it, but was 100% sure that I placed it in my console.

I’m not the type to go shouting accusations, so I delicately approached the issue with one of the service guys there, asking if by chance it may have been vacuumed up on accident, although I knew that that was a near impossibility. He asked a guy who had recently cleaned the vacuum filters and told me that they had found nothing.

About a month later I took it back in for another carwash, this time with a $70 bottle of cologne in my car door pocket. After returning home, I realized the cologne was gone as well. I called Eddy’s the next day and asked to speak to a manager. I got an assistant, who seemed concerned and took my name and number down.

After going about a week without a returned phone call, I went to Eddy’s and spoke with the Service Manager directly in his office. He was very nice and seemed legitimately concerned about my situation. But beyond apologizing and assuring me that they do everything they can to try and prevent theft, there wasn’t much more he could do.

Ultimately, I will not buy a car from Eddy’s again. The perks that they offer with a new car purchase are simply not worth it when I have to worry about having items stolen out of my car when I drop it off for service or a car wash. The ring and cologne are one thing, but how can I be sure that the same characters who stole those items weren’t looking through my briefcase, finding my address, my kids’ names, etc…

Buy a Toyota somewhere else.

The driver came and picked me up promptly from work. He took me right over to pick up my vehicle.

Buying a car is probably one of the few things I used to absolutely hate to do. My experience at this dealership with this sales person has completely changed my mind. I was very impressed with my sales person and he made buying this car a very enjoyable experience. I don't pass out comments like this to everyone but Mark deserves it... Great job!

The car had most all of the features we were looking for. The sales person was very helpful and great to deal with. All in all a very nice experience.

Very knowledgeable on all the Toyota's that we considered buying! You need more salesmen like him!

They were very willing to work with us on the pricing! I think we were all happy with the end results!

We took some of our salesmen's business cards to give to our friends! That's the first time ever doing that!

We did not feel like we were being pressured to buy! Having our new car and knowing that if by chance something does go wrong that the guy's at Eddy's would be right there to fix it!

This is the second vehicle I've purchased From Eddy's Toyota. The 1st 24 years ago '87 Camry and now an '11 Highlander. The old "sales" methodology kept me away for years. Salesmen of "yesteryear" were good at ";Blowing smoke" arrogantly at customers and were a big turn off. Today, when I've been given the facts that apply, confirm my own research, they gave the best price, and I make an informed decision. A fair price, without hours of haggling goes a long way, that's what Mark Smith gave me. I decide when to buy in or keep what I'm driving.

Generally, Toyota makes very reliable vehicles, maintenance expenses for the long haul provide good return on the investment in per mile costs. The replacement parts are plentiful and economical from the dealership or aftermarket. Eddy's service department is well trained to get a job done quick and competitively priced.

My wife hated the idea of going to a dealership , but now, she's refined herself into enjoying the pampering for service or car washes. (You have her hooked!)

Thanks Mark for the great experience.

Thanks Manny, Jim and Pete did a great job of making our new car buying experience the best we have ever encountered. I have purchased new vehicles for myself or the company every 2-3 years since 1975 so I am familiar with the process. You folks have brought customer retention to a new level. You must trust that we will give you, Pete and Eddy's top marks on the reviews.

I wanted to let you know that my wife and I recently worked with Dawn Honer concerning our Toyota Sequoia and a rather large repair. Dawn was not only very informative to us regarding the issue, but also in ensuring that any questions we might have concerning our extended warranty were addressed. Dawn Honer is certainly an asset to Eddy's Toyota. Based on her customer care and your entire service staff, you have two customers for life.

We worked with Landon Vermillion and he was absolutely wonderful. He was there for us every step of the way. He even switched our things from our old car to our new one which was fantastic considering by the time we got outta there my wife and I were both exhausted. Thank you so much for making our car buying experience a great one.
