In Short – Lots of mahogany, tin ceilings, metal crown molding and Arts and Crafts-style décor prevail at this casual, comfortable saloon, part of media mogul Ted Turner's domain. Beef and bison are king, and they're hand-cut on site. Other bites include beer-can chicken, bison prime rib and cedar planked salmon. For dessert, there's home-made cookies, Kahlua fudge brownies, Coke floats and strawberry shortcake.

Ted's Needs to Teach it's Servers Good Manners

The food was great, but the surly waitress with the blond pompadour ruined it for us. Not only did she constantly interrupt us ( 'cause it IS all about HER, y'know) she actually asked me to hand over the steak knives as I signed the check - like maybe we were gonna pocket them before we left. Back in the Stone Age, when I waitressed, we were trained to wait for breaks in conversation before approaching a table, remove plates but not "bus" the table before the guests left -- and above all, make people feel WELCOME. This server did none of that... I won't be going back.

Ted's Fell WAYYYY Short This Time!!!

We ate there last week while the corporate people were there visiting. I can't say anything bad about that visit. Everything was great. We ordered the bison meatloaf and got 2 huge juicy pieces. Everything was perfect so we thought, hey, lets get take out this week. So we called ahead with our order (exactly the same as what we had last week when management was there) but what we got was totally different!! First we were told it would be ready in about 15 to 20 minutes. So we went riding around for about a half hour before we even got there. Then when we went in to get it, we had to wait an additional 20 minutes (now it is a 50 minutes wait!!!). Then when we got it and went straight home in eager anticipation, we were in shock!!! Instead of 2 nice big juicy pieces of meat each, we both received little skinny dried out end (butt) pieces that was not only hard as a rock but burned all the way around!! Our baked potatoes were room temp and didn't have the condiments we'd ordered. The creamed spinach that we ordered was a VERY SMALL approx 1/4 cup (if that much). NOTHING like what we had last week (while corporate was there!!!). The salads were not cold at all and there was no bread at all!!! So one has to wonder, does a corporate partner being in the restaurant make THAT big of a difference in food quality, quantity AND service??? So we called to speak to the manager as soon as we unwrapped our food . After being put on hold and transferred 3 times, we finally reached what we thought was the manager til he told us he was NOT the manager, only acting in his place. We relayed the above story and he said to call the next day between 5 and 6 and told us that the cooks were never supposed to serve the meatloaf ends, only 3 inches from the ends ..we got the complete butt end!! And so we told him that we would just bring the food back the next day between 5 and 6 (way across town...again). Next day comes, we bring food back to show them how nasty and uneatable it was. We requested either a replacement dinner or a refund. Pretty simple right?? We were given a couple of $10 gift certificate (redeemable ONLY with the purchase of "2" ADULT entrees) and were told that was the best they could do. I may add here that the gift certificate he gave us is the same we (and apparently everyone else) received in the mail for free that day!!! So, we did NOT get to eat "and" they KEPT our $34.00!!! WE WILL NOT BE BACK AND I ADVISE YOU TO AVOID THEM TOO!!!!!
